Emma Yasumi

Born in London and raised in Los Angeles, half Japanese and half Polish by heritage, Emma Yasumi's sound reflects her well-travelled and random life.
While her sounds spans the genres of house and techno, Emma cites the hip hop scene of Los Angeles, the dancehall scene of New York, the ghetto house/juke scene of New Jersey and the rave scene of her current home in the UK all as influences in her style of play.
Emma traverses various House and Techno subgenres while maintaining a melodic yet hard-hitting sound. A classically trained dancer, violinist and self described club kid, Emma Yasumi has only one requirement of her sets - that they keep the dance floor moving.
Emma Yasumi is currently based in London, where she holds a twice weekly DJ/promoter residency at the infamous 24 hour licensed afterhours venue Union Club. She and her partner, the Italian-born OLIV3R, comprise the DJ duo Umami Salame and are co-owners of the 10B nightlife brand, which organizes dance events across the UK. Emma has played supporting sets for acclaimed DJ/producers such as Drunky Daniels, Betoko, Sacha Robotti, Drunken Kong and ZDS and has played at London's most well known clubs such as XOYO, Egg, Ministry of Sound, The Cause amd Scala, to name a few.
